How do I handle delays in my workers’ compensation case?

Back To Blog

Delays are common in workers’ compensation cases. It takes a considerable amount of time to get a claim opened, to have benefits paid, to get the necessary treatment, and so on and so forth. The best way to ensure that things are moving as quickly as they can is to find a medical provider or treater that is used to, or comfortable with, the workers’ compensation system in the state of Wisconsin to ensure that your appointments are getting scheduled on time, you’re getting updated work slips in real time, and everything is moving as quickly as it can.

The most common delay that we see is because injured workers cannot get the necessary treatment. And so, if we can avoid that component of it and make sure that you’re treating with someone who is used to our system and is scheduling appointments on time and getting you work slips in real time, that will cut a lot of those delays. Lastly, I would say that if the delays are actually more on the workers’ compensation carrier or insurance company, contact an attorney to make sure that pressure is put on to keep things moving in the right direction.
